Can we get personal? I need to share something with you

View this email in your browser ( ** Hello! ———————————————————— I hope your week is off to a great start! It’s been a little while since we’ve connected and instead of the usual Weekly Dose of TLG, I wanted to get personal for a moment. I’m thrilled to share that I am a candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Woman of the Year in Sacramento! Although a bit apprehensive at first, I was immediately on board once I learned my responsibilities as a candidate. First responsibility: Spread the word about LLS. Second responsibility: Raise as much money as I can during the campaign period. Being that I have a personal connection to the disease, I am determined to make this campaign the best that it can be. On the blog and in life, I’ve been very open about my family, particularly my mother and grandmother, the two ladies that raised me. My mother died from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in 2002 and my grandmother suffered from Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) at the end of her life in 2010. To me, this is the ultimate opportunity to honor their memory and spread awareness of the disease. My mother would have been 60 this year, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate her life. The funds raised during my campaign will allow for continued research and the development of various drug therapies. In addition, LLS provides support to families that are affected by the disease. Everyone wins when cancer loses! If you are so inclined, I would love your support of #TEAMTLG! Below are ways to help. ** Donations and Sponsorships for #TEAMTLG ———————————————————— It’s easy to make a donation by visiting my Woman of The Year page ( . No amount is too small! If you are local to Sacramento, your ticket to the Grand Finale Gala in June goes toward my fundraising goal, too. Tickets are available through the link: Want to get even more involved? If you or your employer may be interested in donating an item for auction, or are interested in sponsorship opportunities, I would be happy to provide more information. Simply reply to this email and I’ll get back to you ASAP! ** Celebrate Your Life with #TEAMTLG at TEAMride Midtown! ———————————————————— I’m thrilled to partner with my favorite place to sweat in Sacramento! Join me on Saturday, May 14 at Noon for a private ride and soiree! After the ride, enjoy healthy bites and beverages, a silent auction, photo booth and more! 100% of the proceeds will go to my campaign. Bikes are $50 each. To ride front row with me, bikes are $75 and will include a swag bag! Reserve your spot by donating on my campaign page ( and in the notes section, type “Celebrate Your Life Ride – (Name)” I do my best to say it often, but I truly want to thank you for your support. Since TLG started in 2012, it has been an interesting journey, never boring, but always an adventure. Many doors have opened up for me because of this baby and I couldn’t have done it without you. I know my #TEAMTLG campaign will be a success with you behind me!! ============================================================ Copyright © 2016 The Lipstick Giraffe. All Rights Reserved.
